Biography of Peter J. Nielsen
Peter Nielsen has over thirty years experience in the real estate development industry, both in the US and internationally, with a focus on project development and team management where his achievements are unsurpassed. He has been instrumental in facilitating the development process and procedures used by numerous companies to establish better communication between the client, design professionals, construction team and the executive management team. His energy, commitment and practical intelligence has set the standard for the success of development projects where he has been involved. He has managed, developed, designed and constructed more than 41 million square feet of various types of developments in North America.
Prior to starting JENWEST, Peter worked at ProLogis for fifteen years where he contributed to the national success of the development group. In his position as Senior Vice President and Director of Project Management he was responsible for North America Preconstruction and Mexico Project Management groups. He was instrumental in developing some of the best master planned parks and aesthetically pleasing award winning buildings in the US and Mexico. Prior thereto he spent ten years as Vice President of Construction with Dueck Group of Companies with a focus on hi-tech defense related aerospace projects in Colorado. As part of Dueck's development team Peter managed design, permitting and construction for site development, commercial, retail and data center projects in Colorado and Vancouver, Canada.
Some of his greatest accomplishments have been build-to-suit facilities on a fee-for-service basis. The build-to-suit business culminated in winning over four million square feet of industrial development for one client, in five US markets, valued at approximately Two Hundred Million US dollars. In addition he managed numerous state of the art defense related aerospace facilities built to meet the client's stringent requirements.
His teams have received a number of President's Achievement Awards for Superior Performance reflecting his focus on excellence and high standards of performance. Peter studied Civil and Structural Engineering at British Columbia Institute of Technology in Vancouver, Canada.
